Divergence

A traditional piece I made for school. The overall theme for the assignment was about using divergent thinking to think outside of the box. We were given a bicycle wheel as reference material and asked to create a piece inspired by it. I chose to use a snake-like creature with a skin pattern similar to the tire treads. (This is also reflected through the curved composition.) The bright flowers were added for extra contrast, considering you wouldn't expect them to go alongside snakes. The color pallet doesn't really symbolize anything. I just needed a visually appealing way to include multiple colors. Because of my time limit, I could not go to the extent I wanted. There are several issues with the face proportions and I feel like the overall flow and three dimensional aspect could've been a lot better. If I had the time, I would've been able to at the very least add a background to make it seem less flat.
